A subscription audit that does one job

What it is

A tool for putting every recurring payment on one page, normalising the billing cycles so they can be compared, and pricing a change before you make it. That is the whole product.

What it deliberately is not

• Not accounting software, and not a budgeting platform.
• Not connected to a bank, a card or an inbox.
• Not a cancellation service. It cannot cancel anything for you.
• Not an affiliate marketplace. Nothing here is being sold to you.
• Not a recommender. It has no view on what you should keep.

Why entry is manual

Automatic detection means access — to transactions, or to an inbox. That is a large amount of trust for a tool that adds up a list of prices. Typing fifteen subscriptions in takes a few minutes and means SubTrack needs no access to anything at all.

How the arithmetic is done

Every amount is held as a whole number of the currency’s smallest unit, so $9.99 twelve times is $119.88 and never $119.88000000000001. Renewal dates are calendar days rather than instants, so 14 September is the 14th regardless of where you are. Both are covered by tests.

Where the numbers come from

All of them come from what you entered. There is no model, no estimate and no benchmark dataset. Where SubTrack cannot work something out — a currency with no rate, a subscription with no renewal date — it says so rather than filling the gap.
